STORABUTT
The “Storabutt” is a handle and reel seat combination
designed especially for big game anglers who use
curved butts. The reel seat is ferruled at both ends to permit you to remove
the butt section of your rod without also removing your reel and disturbing
your terminal tackle. This makes it easier to store curved butts, especially on
boats where storage is a problem. The “Storabutt” is available in either
curved or straight models for 80lb. and 130lb. class rods.

AFTCO REEL DRAG TECHNOLOGIES
REEL SEAT/ROD BUTT
The AFTCO RDT Seat-Butt (ARDT) is an electronic
scale, which is built into the reel seat/rod butt, and
displays the exact amount of drag tension in your line as you fight a fish.
The ARDT senses the forward pressure of the reel as line is pulled against
the drag and converts this pressure into a digital drag reading in pounds
or kilograms. The easy-to-read LCD displays your exact drag tension,
regardless of spool diameter, amount of line out, reel size or line test. The
ARDT works much like a digital scale, but it measures line tension
instead of fish weight. This innovation will now allow any angler- expert
or novice- to see exactly how much drag tension is being applied during
the fight. Using the drag reading supplied by the ARDT, anglers will land
fish quicker, by maximizing their pulling pressure without exceeding the
breaking strength of the line.
The ARDT is sold as a complete rugged and waterproof unit including
the RDT digital readout, #2 reel seat, 11.5” long by 1” diameter, anodized
6061-T6 aluminum butt which weighs 19 ounces. The ARDT is designed
to have an EVA, or plastic “slick” butt, along with gimbal or butt cap,
glued into place. It will handle lines, reels and drag setting up to 80lb test.
